Can the floor hatch be installed with tile flooring?
Yes. Our tile-in floor hatches include a recessed insert tray sized for your tile thickness and pattern. The frame is laser-cut to match your tile grid so grout lines continue uninterrupted across the hatch opening.
What tile thickness can the frame accommodate?
The insert tray depth is customised to your tile specification. We accommodate porcelain, ceramic, and natural stone tiles from 8mm to 40mm thickness. Provide your tile dimensions and we will design accordingly.
Will the hatch support the weight of the tile?
Yes. The insert tray is structurally designed to carry the tile load plus the specified pedestrian or light commercial load above. The tray is reinforced to prevent deflection under load.
How do I align the tile pattern across the hatch?
During ordering, provide your tile dimensions and the position of the hatch within your tile layout. We will cut the frame to align with your tile grid. The insert is shipped without tiles so you can lay your own tiles during installation.
Is the tile-in hatch suitable for heated floors?
The steel frame is compatible with electric underfloor heating systems. The insert tray may limit access to the heating elements within the hatch footprint — this should be considered when positioning the hatch.
