Frequently Asked Questions

What does bespoke floor hatch mean?
Bespoke means fabricated to your exact structural opening dimensions rather than selected from a range of standard sizes. You provide the clear opening (width × length), floor construction type, load requirement, and finish — we fabricate a hatch that fits precisely.
Can a bespoke hatch be fitted to an existing floor?
Yes. For concrete slabs, the opening is diamond-saw cut and the frame set with chemical anchors. For timber joist floors, trimmer joists are fitted either side of the opening before the hatch frame is installed. A structural engineer should confirm spans over 800 mm.
Are bespoke floor hatches available with a tile or stone finish?
Yes. Tile-finish hatches have a recessed cover panel into which your chosen tile or stone is set flush with the surrounding floor. The hatch becomes invisible when closed — the only visible element is a hairline gap around the perimeter.
How long does a bespoke floor hatch take?
Standard steel hatches: 10–14 working days from approved drawing. Glass hatches: 14–18 working days. Electric-lift variants: 16–20 working days.
